INCI: SQUALANE

 PRIMABENE® Squalane naturally occurs in the unsaponifiable fraction of olive oil and other vegetable oils and is a clear, odorless, and colorless liquid (lipid) produced by hydrogenating the natural substance squalene, making it oil-soluble. Squalene is oxidation-sensitive due to its double bonds, and through hydrogenation, it becomes the oxidation-stable and heat-resistant squalane. PRIMABENE® Squalane is 100% oil-soluble and, due to its low viscosity, excellently suited as a spreading agent in cosmetics. In hair care products, it functions as a conditioner, softens the hair, makes it smooth, and improves combability. PRIMABENE® Squalane is used in pharmacy as a spreading and care agent in ointment bases.
