PRIMABENE® Glycerin BIO 99% is derived from organically certified raw materials. It is obtained from various vegetable oils and fats by splitting the fat at 250 °C and 50 bar in accordance with the requirements of the Organic Regulation.
The 99% purity of PRIMABENE® Glycerin BIO 99% reflects its high quality.
Glycerin, also called glycerol, is a trivalent alcohol with the systematic name 1,2,3-propanetriol and the chemical molecular formula C₃H₈O₃. In its pure form, it is a colorless and odorless, hygroscopic and viscous liquid with a slightly sweet taste, which is also reflected in the name "glyceros" (Greek for "sweet").
Glycerin from organically certified raw materials is approved as an additive (E422) in organic foods and is subject to the usage restrictions of Regulation (EC) 2021/1165, Annex V, Part A, Section A1. Maximum quantity restrictions are defined in Regulation (EU) 1129/2011.
