PRIMABENE® OLIVEM® 900 is melted with the oil phase. The processing as a W/O emulsifier differs from the usual process. Strict adherence is important for the successful formation of a W/O emulsion with Olivem 900!
Heat the oil phase and water phase separately to a temperature of approximately 70°C and maintain the temperature (water bath). Add the water phase to the oil phase in very small portions and mix well while stirring slowly (small whisk, spatula). Each added portion of water must be well dispersed before adding the next one. Therefore, it is important to keep both phases at temperature in the water bath. Once all the water has been incorporated, remove the emulsion from the water bath and slowly cool it while stirring.
